Buford History

In a bid to host the lunch stop on the new Atlanta and Richmond Air Line Railway, they renamed the town after its president, Algernon S. Buford. They won the lucrative stopping point. Buford was once known as the “New York City” of Gwinnett, until about the 1960s, 70s when Lawrenceville became bigger than Buford. However, Buford has grown rapidly over the last few years, primarily because of the Mall of Georgia, a strong city school system, and houses built in the city.

Buford, Georgia is situated in northern Gwinnett County with a small portion of the city limits extending into Hall County, 35 miles northeast of Atlanta.

For more than 60 years, Buford was the largest city in Gwinnett. While many small southern towns were characterized as sleepy agricultural villages, Buford was Gwinnett County’s industrial heart. The town became famous for its leather tanning and the manufacture of saddles, collars, harnesses, and other related goods. In the not too distant past, Buford was known internationally as The Leather City.

If you are planning on moving out of your house or are purchasing a new, foreclosed or resale home, it is always wise to have either the home your purchasing or sold to have a Buford home inspection completed by a certified Buford home inspector. When a thorough Buford home inspection has been completed by a home inspector, it then becomes easy to determine any issues that should be fixed before moving out or moving in. These issues found in a Buford home inspection completed by a Buford home inspector often relate to repairs that need to be completed in order for the home to be in good enough condition to live safely in.

There are a number of elements that determine the cost of having a Buford home inspection completed by a Buford home inspector. Many times a Buford home inspector will base their fee cost of performing a Buford home inspection on how big a home or building is; the larger the property, the larger the Buford home inspector will charge for the Buford home inspection.

A Buford home inspector also usually determines their fee amount based on how detailed of a Buford home inspection a property owner would like to have conducted. If the home owner wants a detailed report of everything found in the inspection then the fee price is typically higher. Many times a detailed report will include not only writings of the inspection, but also pictures too. A brief and not so detailed inspection usually takes about 2 hours to complete and most times only includes a written report of what was inspected.
It is very advantageous to hire a professional home inspector when having a Buford home inspection performed because they fully understand how to complete a thorough inspection. A professional Buford home inspector also has a deep knowledge on maintenance and home safety, which allows for defects in a property to be easily identified.

Having a Buford home inspection is most important for those people who are purchasing homes. It is very stressful when buyers purchase a house only to find out afterwards it needs many repairs. A real estate agent may sometimes leave out defects found within a home; however, a Buford home inspector will be completely honest as to whether a person should buy a home because they do not profit one way or another if the home sells.

A Buford home inspection is a wonderful way to discover the reality condition of a home. An inspection report should include any repairs that need to be completed. It is important to remember that these types of inspections are not home appraisals and they do not verify as to whether a home meets local rules and regulations.
