Many important events helped to modernize Winder after World War II. Major public improvements led this modernization, inluding the Winder-Barrow County Hospital, the groundbreaking ceremony taking place in August of 1950. Construction was begun on the new Federal Building, which opened in 1967, the same year which saw Fort Yargo become a Georgia State Park. During the late 1970s, important investments were made in Downtown, including the restoration of the depot, improvements to downtown sidewalks, and renovation of City Hall and the police and fire stations. Following a fire that destroyed two buildings at Broad and Candler streets, the City created a small park and parking lot on the site. Plans were drawn for a civic center and new police and fire facilities, which were completed in 1986. A new headquarters for the Piedmont Regional Library was dedicated in 1988, and the new Barrow County Courthouse annex was opened in 1990. That year, Winder was a City of 7,373 inhabitants.

The median income for a household in the city was $35,924, and the median income for a family was $40,896. Males had a median income of $31,371 versus $21,736 for females. The per capita income for the city was $17,108. About 10.3% of families and 13.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 14.3% of those under age 18 and 16.8% of those age 65 or over.

If you are planning on moving out of your house or are purchasing a new, foreclosed or resale home, it is always wise to have either the home your purchasing or sold to have a Winder home inspection completed by a certified Winder home inspector. When a thorough Winder home inspection has been completed by a home inspector, it then becomes easy to determine any issues that should be fixed before moving out or moving in. These issues found in a Winder home inspection completed by a Winder home inspector often relate to repairs that need to be completed in order for the home to be in good enough condition to live safely in.

There are a number of elements that determine the cost of having a Winder home inspection completed by a Winder home inspector. Many times a Winder home inspector will base their fee cost of performing a Winder home inspection on how big a home or building is; the larger the property, the larger the Winder home inspector will charge for the Winder home inspection.

A Winder home inspector also usually determines their fee amount based on how detailed of a Winder home inspection a property owner would like to have conducted. If the home owner wants a detailed report of everything found in the inspection then the fee price is typically higher. Many times a detailed report will include not only writings of the inspection, but also pictures too. A brief and not so detailed inspection usually takes about 2 hours to complete and most times only includes a written report of what was inspected.
It is very advantageous to hire a professional home inspector when having a Winder home inspection performed because they fully understand how to complete a thorough inspection. A professional Winder home inspector also has a deep knowledge on maintenance and home safety, which allows for defects in a property to be easily identified.

Having a Winder home inspection is most important for those people who are purchasing homes. It is very stressful when buyers purchase a house only to find out afterwards it needs many repairs. A real estate agent may sometimes leave out defects found within a home; however, a Winder home inspector will be completely honest as to whether a person should buy a home because they do not profit one way or another if the home sells.

A Winder home inspection is a wonderful way to discover the reality condition of a home. ?An inspection report should include any repairs that need to be completed. It is important to remember that these types of inspections are not home appraisals and they do not verify as to whether a home meets local rules and regulations.
